The Cimbrian Bull

The Cimbrian Bull

The Cimbrian Bull in the center of Aalborg

Hi everyone, how are you ? Us ? We are totally fine, we become to be used to the danish weather. Sooner in this month we've done a little walk in the city and we felt on a big scuplture of a bull and we were wondering "What is it ? So, we've made some research and i will talk to you about it now.
The Cimbrian Bull is Aalborg’s most famous sculpture and stands on Vesterbro. Vesterbro is one of the mains streets in Aalborg.

A lot of people think that can be one of the finest creations of renowned sculptor Anders J. Bundgaard. You can also see a copy of this sculpture in Bundgaards Museum. For the reveiling of the sculpture, in 1937, the poet Johannes Jensen read aloud his poem. The Danish Distilleries paid for this scuplture and offered it to the city.It has been placed on ground once occupied by the distilleries.

The bull stands broad-backed and strong, he is ready to attack. It stands on its pedestal high above the traffic as a symbol of the Cimbrians' zest for life and their call for foreign places. You can also read the Johannes V. Jensen's poem on the pedestal.

That's more impressive in real ;) I had to go, we have some works to deliver. I hope to give you some news soon. Bye
